Commissions

I can work with you to create something individual and unique. You may wish to commission a painting to:

  • Commemorate a wedding or other special event

  • Have something special created that reminds you of a particular memory or a loved one

  • Bring to life an idea or to convey a certain mood or a particular colour scheme

  • Acquire a painting of mine that you have seen on the website that has already been sold or that you would like in a different size or something similar

 

You can also commission a painting as a personal gift for a friend or family member, for example:

  • As a graduation present

  • As a wedding present

  • As a birthday present

  • As a retirement present

  • As an anniversary present

Please note that I do not do replicas or copies of other artists.

How to commission a painting:

  1. If you have a special painting in mind please contact me at commissions@liamaraart.com.

Information to include in the email:

  • The size or approximate size of the proposed painting

  • A clear, high resolution photo or photos of what you would like a painting of. Please avoid flash or high contrast sunlight/dark shadows/filters. If you are unsure about whether a certain photo is suitable, you can email it to me and I will be happy to provide feedback. Please let me know if there are any specific changes that you would like made to the subject matter and I will try to accommodate your wishes.

  • Any aspects of my previous paintings that you particularly like and would like me to emulate

  • If there is a meaning, story or inspiration behind the artwork

  • Any favourite or least favourite colours

  • Anything else you feel I should know

 2. After discussing the painting with you and you are happy with the proposed painting, select the size option from the menus below and submit the purchase.

 3. Once your order is ready, I will send you a proof of the painting for you to view. You will be able to approve it or send me your comments if you require edits. I offer two rounds of editing free of charge.

How long does it take to finish a painting?:

I will work as quickly as possible, however, I work with oil paints which have take some time to dry. Paintings normally take up to 2 weeks to complete depending on size and complexity. Once the painting is completed, I will need to wait until it is dry enough to safely package for shipping. Typically for my paintings, this takes around 2 weeks to be safe. I can discuss the estimated times with you for your particular painting if you have questions.
